Weichang’an Pill is an effective Chinese patent prescription consisting of ten Chinese medicinal herbs and has long been used for the treatment of diarrhea. It is not only suitable for the patients with diarrhea, but also apply to the patients with constipation. Because Weichang’an Pill has a bi-phasic regulating action to the gastrointestinal motility and make it tend to balance and relieve the diarrhea or constipation symptoms.
Despite the popular medicinal use of Weichang’an Pill , the systematic and scientific proof relating to the efficacy is generally lacking. In order to improve Weichang’an Pill to modern Chinese medicine, several research will be carried out by pharmacodynamics and Pharmacokinetics methods. Some pharmacodynamics and Pharmacokinetics studies of gastrointestinal diseases were conducted. However, the dose-effect relationship of Weichang’an Pill is unkown, so it should be for further research. In addition, the Pharmacokinetics of Weichang’an Pill is also should be be for further research. |
