Numerous researches about the catalysis of inherent alkali and alkaline earth metallic species (AAEMs) on biomass gasification were investigated, and it was indicated that a certain amount of AAEMs would play a significant catalytic role in biomass gasification, and even a minor amount of AAEMs was sufficient to modify the gasification behavior to a great extent. However, there is a lack of systematical investigation on effects of inherent AAEMs on biomass gasification at different temperatures. The main issues addressed in this investigation are: a) investigate the effect of the leaching pretreatments on sample chemical and Physical structure evolution including ultimate and proximate analysis, AAEMs content, pore properties analyzed via Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) method; b) study the catalytic characteristics of inherent alkali and alkaline earth metallic species on biomass gasification at different temperatures. Gas composition, gas yield, tar content in raw gas, and cold gas efficiency (CGE) were selected to evaluate the gasification; C) thermogravimetric (TG) coupled with Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FTIR) was used to reveal the catalytic mechanism from the point of view of dynamics. |
