Although the application of UASB technology in China has been greatly developed, there is still a gap between it and the level of foreign countries. Further exploration and practice on the equipment and engineering application of UASB reactor and its supporting equipment should be added to solve the problems and applicability problems in engineering. At the same time, in the following aspects, UASB anaerobic treatment process is to realize the new development: adaptability problems in engineering and operational problems (1) the operation of UASB reactor at low temperatures; (2) high temperature anaerobic treatment; (3) to deal with accumulation, or generate new granular sludge in UASB reactor; (4) processing waste water containing high concentrations of toxic substances; 5.
