300 mg monobromocorannulene, 400 mg (2-fluoro-3,4-dimethylphenyl)boronic ester,150 mg Pd(PPh3)4 and 400 mg potassium carbonate was added to a two necks flask in nitrogen atmosphere. 25 ml THF and 5 ml water was degassed for 30 mins. The solvent mixture was added into the flask. Reaction mixture was stirring and refluxing for 19h. TLC and GCMS shows there is no staring material and the product was generated. (Scheme 1)
After it cools down to room temperature, the reaction mixture was extracted with concentrated sodium bicarbonate and DCM. Organic phase was collected and the solvents were evaporated under reduced pressure and the residue was purified by flash column chromatography (hexane).
After putting it under high vacuum at 40°C, 100 mg pure product was collected.
