Micro/nanofibers are ultrafine fiber materials having a diameter between 100 nm and 100 μm. Methods including melt blown spinning , electro- spinning, solution blow spinning (SBS), gas jet spinning , and solution centrifugal jet spinning, etc. have been used to pro- duce fibrous membrane.
SBS utilizes a high-pressured gas stream with high velocity to draw dissolved polymer into micro/nanofibers. Compared with other methods, SBS has the ad- vantages of low energy consumption, high safety, no requirement of equipment with high voltage or high temperature, easy to scale up, etc. SBS is promising in preparing micro/nanofibrous membrane.
SBS is also appropriate to prepare com-posite micro/nanofibrous membrane, which is made of two or more polymers with different physical and chemical properties and expresses different characteristics from the original polymers . |
