Venuti emphasized the cultural aspect involved in translation, which broadened the vision of translators and enriched the theoretical and conceptual framework. He questioned the traditional approach in translation, criticizing the assimilation of dominant foreign cultures, and put forward foreignization strategy. He has made enormous contributions to translation studies.
