Recently, green synthesis method of metal nanoparticles has been very popular. The biosynthesis methods via microbial or plant extracts have become simple, green, and feasible instead of chemical synthesis and other physical methods. So far, there has been no report on the synthesis of metal nanoparticles by the reduction of corn silk extract.
In this work, AgNPs were synthesized by using aqueous extract of corn silk. The effects of pH, temperature and concentration of AgNO3 on the formation of nanoparticles were investigated. AgNPs were characterized by UV-vis, DLS, FT-IR, SEM, EDX. The antibacterial activity and anticancer activity were also investigated in this work. |
