Microalgae can be a promising alternative feedstock for biodiesel production and simultaneously CO2 fixation from flue gas. In this work, the cultivation condition of Chlorella sorokiniana is investigated to optimize biomass and lipid production. The influence of initial biomass content, nitrogen sources and concentration, phosphorus concentration, pH and CO2 concentration is tested. The experimental results indicated that the optimal nitrogen source for C. sorokiniana was glycine at 1.0 g/L. And the lipid concentration and content could be achieved of 173.73 mg/L and 44.1%. Meanwhile, phosphorus source with concentration of 11.4 mg/L and pH of 9 was preferable for biomass and lipid accumulation when compared with other conditions. When CO2 from flue gas was pumped into the cultivation system as inorganic carbon source, the maximum biomass concentration was 1.003 g/L achieved on the fourth day with the gas flow rate of 6 mL/min. |
