Based on the requirements and characteristics of the HPPO process and the engineering considerations, fixed-bed reactor is regarded more suitable currently owing to elimination of tedious operations including the filtration and makeup of catalysts in the slurry reactor as well as easy operation in large scale. On the other hand, PO selectivity is greatly improved and the catalyst abrasion is well solved in the fixed-bed reactor. However, in contrast to the massive research on slurry reactors reported recently, investigations on the commercial application of fixed-bed reactors have seldom been accessed. |
