Zinc oxide (ZnO) is a unique semiconductor with a wide band gap (3.37 eV in the wurtzite crystalline phase). ZnO has been extensively applied in optoelectronic device, sensor, energy material, catalyst and many other important areas, especially with the ZnO structure in the nanoscale.Here, we present a new approach for the fabrication of ZnO nanotube using the plasma decomposition of Zn(OH)2 via dielectric-barrier discharge (DBD). Neither catalyst nor template is required. |
