Particulate matter from cooking oil fumes (COF) has great potential adverse effects on human health. In this report, to study the effect of kinds of Chinese ordinary family cooking dishes and air flow rates of range hood on the cook’s health risk, numerical simulations are executed to obtain the exposure concentration of PM2.5 from COF. Compared with the types of cooking dishes, the air flow rate of range hood has a more significant effect on PM2.5 capture efficiency. On the contrary, the health risks of family cook exposed to PM2.5 from COF are more likely to be affected by types of cooking dishes. The results showed that the health risk value all exceed the acceptable limit of 10-6, and thus of health concerns. The recommended frequencies of the three dishes were proposed. |
