Direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation has been a research hotspot of array signal processing. The earliest research involving in DOA estimation for noncircular sources is focused on far-field sources. In the later development, the models are extended to the near-field noncircular sources and mixed circular sources. However, a common scenario, such as speaker localization using microphone arrays, of which the sources are mixed far-field and near-field sources has not been studied. Thus, in this report, a novel localization algorithm for mixed noncircular sources is introduced based on a uniform linear array (ULA). Simulation results show that the proposed method has achieved a reasonable resolution. |
