Phytoliths have a significant potential for use in environmental research, for their accumulation and stability in soils and sediments for several hundreds to thousands of years. Phytoliths stable isotopes(Si, O and C) can indicate palaeoenvironmental plants' physiological and environmental information.
This paper mainly summarizes three issues: the research progress of stable carbon, silicon and oxygen isotopes of phytoliths;the limits of each element in the research progress and the prospects for the further research. |
