This article gives a detailed historical review of the development of the American industrial education movement.It sees the organization of the National Society for the Promotion of Industrial Education and the publication of the report of the Massachusetts Commission on Industrial and Technical Education as the beginning of this movement. The Industrial Education Movement was a period from 1906 to 1917 where changes in agriculture, manufacturing, mining, transportation, and technology had a profound effect on the social, economic and cultural conditions of the times. It marks the change of industrial education from individual, folk will and appeal to group and government action, and marks the change of industrial education movement from regional trend to national movement.
