To study the effects of submerged hydrophytes on the fate of dibutyl phthalate (DBP) in the aquatic environment, a Cylindrotheca closterium microcosm was constructed. A three-compartment (i.e., water, microphytobenthos, sediments) level IV fugacity model was established and applied to the simulation experiments in the microcosm.
