Theo Hermans is one of distinguished scholars in translation, and he advocates the descriptive and systemic approach to the study of translation. This presentation will be divided into three parts:
First, the profile of Theo Hermans;
Second, the main ideas of the descriptive and systemic approach, and the norm concept;
Third, the comments on Theo Hermans and its translation theory.
