The 17α-methyl steroid Oral-Turinabol (Dehydrochloromethyltestosterone (DHCMT), 4-chloro-17β-hydroxy-17α-methylandrosta-1,4-dien-3-one) is a well known doping compound. To detect whether the athletes take this doping drug or not, we need drug metabolites as reference substances for their structural confirmation. My goal is to produce Oral-Turinabol long-term metabolites by a combined chemical synthesis and biotechnological approach. For the doping compounds project, when athletes take the doping drug, the drug will be metabolized very quickly, so that it’s very difficult to find its metabolite after long time.
That’s why we want to find a long-term metabolite. It has already been known for some time that there is a long-term (22 days) metabolite of Oral-Turinabol which can be detected by GC-MS. But the structure of this metabolite has not been confirmed yet. We want to use a combined chemical-biotechnological approach to produce this metabolite as the reference material, which in turn would permit doping analysts to provide analytical data on athletes' probes that are valid in court. |
