A new series of non-covalent donor-acceptor based supramolecular assemblies with designed structure have been developed. Their hydrogelation behavior and thermochromic properties indicated that the length of bridges in acceptors play a dominate role to determine their hydrogelation ability, when the length of bridges is larger than 6.3 Å, donor-acceptor complexes show excellent hydrogelation ability self-assembled into supramolecular materials. In the meantime, tuning the breadth of bridge in acceptors showed no effect on their hydrogelation behavior. |
