As an abundant and renewable biomass resource, corn stover is considered to be very promising for producing high value-added chemicals and has attracted increasing interest in recent years. The main components of corn stover are cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. It can be difficult to degrade due to its compact structure and stable chemical properties. At present, the main hydrolysis methods of corn stover include acid treatment, enzyme treatment, ionic liquid, organic solvent treatment, and so on. In the present work, corn stover samples were hydrolysed with 0.6% nitric acid at 135-165°C. The concentrations of hydrolysate—sugars (xylose, glucose and arabinose), acetic acid and furfural were determined. The kinetic parameters of the Saeman model for predicting hydrolysis products were obtained. The optimal reaction condition (150°C and 5 min) were determined by comparing the values of E (the efficiency of factors which affected hydrolysis). Under optimal conditions, the yield of glucose, xylose and arabinose were 8.02 g/L, 16.59 g/L and 3.28 g/L, respectively. The results showed that it was suitable to hydrolyze corn stover under the relatively low temperature with extremely low concentration of nitric acid as a catalyst. |
